The Sheboygan County and Village of Kohler area has already established itself as a premier destination for golf, resort lodging, gourmet dining, outdoor recreation and unmatched spa services. The proposed public golf course will add to the region’s reputation as a world-class destination.
From its humble beginnings as a dormitory for immigrant workers in the early 1900s, The American Club is one of 52 hotels in North America to achieve both Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond ratings, and features award-winning Championship golf courses at Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run and the Kohler Waters Spa – one of only 47 spas in the world to claim the prestigious Forbes Five-Star distinction.
HOME OF AWARD-WINNING RECREATION
In Golf Digest’s 2015/2016 ratings of the top 100 public courses in the world, the Straits course at Whistling Straits ranks 4th and Whistling Straits’ Irish course ranks 47th. At Blackwolf Run, the Rivers course ranks 16th and the Meadow Valleys course ranks 72nd.
The area is also home to other unique Kohler hospitality and recreation offerings, like boutique shopping, 12 dining establishments, specialty lodging, a wilderness preserve and more.
The American Club has transformed over the years, and so has the Village of Kohler itself. But no matter what has changed, one thing has always remained constant: our commitment to leading-edge innovation and a single level of quality that bring charm, good taste
and generosity of spirit to all.
